18/11/15 Sovereign Global France (SG F) has launched its preparation and equipment programme to bring a protection company from Cote d’Ivoire up to the UN standards prior to its deployment to the United Nations Multidimensionnal Stabilisation Mission in Mali (MINUSMA).
The Republic of Cote d’Ivoire is the sixth Troop and Police Contributing Country (T/PCC) since 2012 to work in conjunction with SG F in the preparation of its UN peacekeeping contingent.
SG F will complement the action of the French Forces in Cote d’Ivoire and train a 170-men strong company which will protect MINUSMA’s headquarter in Timbuktu (Mali). The unit will also ensure the safe passage of UN convoys for peacekeeping units operating in Northern Mali.
Sovereign Global France has put together teams of instructors and UN advisors in Paris, Abidjan and New York to ensure that the Ivoirian contingent meets the stringent standards of the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations.
Since 2012 SG F has prepared and equipped almost 4,000 peacekeepers to generate eleven UN military and police units; and provided them with individual and collective equipment (250 containers) and 350 vehicles. These contingents are currently deployed to four major peacekeeping operations on the African continent.
